Windar sends the first SeaMade towers to Ostend

On March 20, Windar Renovables (Grupo Daniel Alonso) carried out the shipment of the first SGRE SeaMade wind towers in the port of Avilés.

The rest of the towers will be sent in successive shipments that will continue until the end of the summer according to the planned schedule.

The company is responsible for the manufacture at its facilities in Avilés in Spain of 46 of the 58 towers that make up this 487 MW offshore wind farm, which is 50 km from the coast in Belgian waters.

SeaMade is the name of two combined offshore wind projects, previously known as Mermaid (235 MW) and Seastar (252 MW). SeaMade project involve 8.0MW offshore wind turbines and sill supply clean energy to be provided to 485.000 households. Installation and commissioning are expected to be completed before the end of 2020.
