This new order that Iberdrola is carrying out in the waters of French Brittany has a value of 350 million euros, which is the largest offshore wind in its history and will provide clean energy to 1,000,000 people.
The contract was signed this morning at the Fene facilities, with the presence of the President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the Government representative in Galicia, Javier Losada, as well as by the presidents of the main companies: Ignacio Galán (Iberdrola), Susana de Sarriá (Navantia), and Orlando Alonso (Windar).
The project encompasses the manufacture of 62 foundations (jackets) and 186 piles and it is estimated that it will directly employ some 1,000 professionals distributed between Galicia and Asturias, as well as more than 1,100 in France.
The port of Brest in Brittany is the location chosen by Navantia and Windar to open for the first time a factory where the St. Brieuc project will be completed.
