Last Seamade OWF towers in route to Ostend

The vessel Rotra Ventre set sail for the port of Ostend, with the last 6 tower sections of this Belgian offshore wind farm where the terminal that serves as a base for the storage and assembly of the components before their installation in the wind farm.

With 487 MW, Seamade is an offshore wind farm located 50 km off the Belgian coast in the North Sea and will have 58 SiemensGamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines that will supply 485,000 households with renewable energy.

Windar has manufactured 46 of these wind towers at its Asturian facilities, the latest units of which have been shipped and have left the port of Avilés for Belgium.

The first batch of these towers arrived at the Ostend terminal, during the month of March of this year, and its construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
