Windar Renovables at the ‘1st Industrial Professional Training Employment Exhibition’ held in Asturias

Held on 8, 9 and 10 June, it was part of the activities of the Asturias Professional Training Partners Network. It was attended by the CIFP of Langreo, Gijón and Avilés, as well as students from all over Asturias, who were able to meet with a group of ten companies in the region, among which WINDAR was one of them.

The aim of this exhibition is to become a meeting point between the work needs of Asturian companies and the students who are studying in the different cycles of professional fields related to the sector, as well as a means to make known the trends of the labour market.

Firstly, guided visits were organised to the CIFP for the companies participating in the Exhibition to get to know their facilities first hand and meet with the teaching teams of the different industrial areas of specialisation taught there. Then, the companies presented our activities to the students attending the event, highlighting those aspects that identify us as benchmark companies in the sector, both inside and outside Asturias, or Spain as in the case of WINDAR.

Finally, we attended to the students who came to our stand, creating a meeting point between our work needs and the students who are studying the different modules of Industrial Professional Training. The students had the opportunity to learn first-hand about job market trends, as well as the transversal knowledge that is required for access to employment.

WINDAR

At the first job exhibition, WINDAR was represented by the RRHH Corporate Director Spain, Mariola Villarón, who presented the company to the attendees, as well as by Paloma Soret and Daniel Villar, technicians from the Human Resources area of the company. Both attended to the concerns of the students at the WINDAR stand, holding meetings, interviews and collecting the CVs of the students.

With the partnership that we have been maintaining for years with FEMETAL and the CIFPs, we subscribe to the importance of agreements with the business sector to promote the organisation of this type of activity and to allow the pooling of knowledge between the working and educational sectors, in line with what was highlighted by the Director General of Vocational Education, Javier Cueli, the Secretary General of FEMETAL, María Pérez and the President of the Asturias Council of Professional Training, Eva Ledo.

WINDAR as a partner of FEMETAL, has been collaborating for years with the Professional Training Centres of Asturias, spreading the promotion of Professional Training among students and trainees. A way to promote and encourage quality education in society, as a source of opportunities and professional development and future economic growth, to attract talent.

These actions are part of WINDAR’s Sustainability Strategy and are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs 4, 8 and 17.
