We celebrate the third anniversary of WindFloat Atlantic, the world’s FIRST semi-submersible floating offshore wind farm.

Navantia (3)

Windar Renovables manufactured ONE SEMI-submersible floating type structure to supply electricity to 25,000 Portuguese households annually during these years.

Each platform stands at 30 meters high, and the whole turbine with 212 meters high. It consists of three 8.4 MW floating wind turbines anchored at a depth of 100 meters.

As we celebrated this milestone, we’re also eagerly looking ahead. The anniversary celebration takes on a new dimension as we set our sights on these promising new opportunities. Offshore wind energy, and more with floating wind turbine technology, is key to achieving emission neutrality by 2050. Now is the scale up to larger projects and expect Europe to have 3-4 GW of floating wind by 2030.

As we move forward, we’re driving Portugal and the global energy landscape toward a brighter, more sustainable future
