The joint venture formed by Navantia Seaenergies-Windar Renovables invests more than 36 million euros in the XXL monopiles factory.

It is currently under construction and is due to open in early 2023, with production scheduled to start later this year.

The new XXL monopile factory facility is expected to adapt to future market needs to accommodate larger projects, more units and increased productivity, as it is capable of producing all three existing offshore substructure technologies for offshore wind farms: jackets, monopiles and floating.

All these strategic actions will form the core for the future of the foundations and offshore platforms business located in Fene, according to the public company.
