Iberdrola inaugurates Wikinger offshore wind farm

Iberdrola inaugurates today 29 October the Wikinger OWF, located in the Baltic Sea (Germany). An investment of 1.400 million euros.

With 350 megawatts (MW), Wikinger has been a challenge for Iberdrola which has counted for the construction of the pieces with the Joint Venture formed by the Spanish companies WINDAR a company of Grupo Daniel Alonso and the shipyard of Navantia.

WINDAR participated in this project with the construction of 116 piles of 40 meters in length, as well as the transition pieces for the 29 Jackets manufactured jointly with Navantia, and 70 wind towers for ADWEN which was in charge of the supply of the wind turbines.

2.000 jobs have been created for the construction of the Wikinger OWF, in the port of Mukran and in the factories where all its components have been built, both in Germany and in Spain.
