The Windanker project, developed by Iberdrola in the German Baltic Sea, has reached a new milestone with the installation of the first monopile, marking the start of the offshore construction phase of the offshore wind farm, which will have a total capacity of 315 MW.

The foundations, measuring up to 84 metres in length and weighing approximately 2,100 tonnes, have been manufactured by Windar Renovables and Navantia Seanergies. Windanker is the third major project that Iberdrola is developing within its Baltic Hub, and will provide enough renewable energy to supply around 315,000 homes once it comes into operation, which is scheduled for the end of 2026.

Windar Renovables’ involvement in the manufacture of Windanker foundations reinforces its leading position in the international offshore wind sector and its commitment to developing innovative and sustainable industrial solutions that drive the global energy transition.
