Last Thursday, Windar Renovables had the honour of receiving at its TAE3 and TAE4 facilities a group of students from the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Technologies Engineering degrees of the University of Oviedo, specialising in welding.

This visit is part of our policy of active collaboration with the academic and training spheres, with the aim of bringing the industrial reality closer to future professionals in the sector, and to show them directly the impact and relevance of applied engineering in highly demanding technological production environments.

During the day, students had the opportunity to learn about the fundamental role of a welding engineer in industry, covering key aspects such as joint design, process selection, quality management and production optimisation. This experience allowed them to understand how theory translates into concrete industrial practices and how the knowledge acquired in the classroom is applied in a real advanced manufacturing environment.

The visit was guided by a team of highly qualified Windar professionals, including:

  • Beatriz Mortera Loredo, International Welding Engineer (IWE)
  • María Calderón García, International Welding Engineer (IWE)
  • Ricardo Gutiérrez García, International Welding Engineer (IWE)
  • Alberto Menéndez Castañón, Quality Department
  • Nuria Expósito Cimadevilla, Departamento de Recursos Humanos

The day began with a detailed presentation on the functions, competencies and challenges of the welding engineer in the current industrial context. The students were then taken on a technical tour of the TAE3 and TAE4 facilities, where they were able to observe first-hand the production processes underway and relate them to the concepts previously presented.

Windar Renovables would like to thank the University of Oviedo and its students for their interest and participation. This type of initiative not only enriches the technical training of future engineers, but also strengthens the links between university and industry, fostering a shared vision towards excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

We remain committed to talent, training and knowledge as key pillars for building the future of engineering and energy.
