Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, it is one of the essential foundations for building a prosperous and sustainable world. In this sense, the United Nations SDG 5 looks to achieve gender equality and empower all women. To this end, among other aspects, the laws are being reformed as tools that promote gender equality by supporting this principle. One of the key aspects in certain cultural environments can be violence or harassment, including sexual harassment, against women.

In this sense, the Government of India approved in 2013 the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, also known as “POSH Act”.

From the business sphere, action can be taken by implementing the fight against harassment in the environment where women work. For this reason, Windar Renewable Energy aligned itself with the principles of this Act promulgated by the Government of India, developing and implementing its own Zero Tolerance Policy towards Sexual Harassment of women, and integrating the philosophy and principles of corporate social responsibility of its parent company WINDAR, regarding the social aspects of diversity and inclusion of all the people who are part of the company.

The Windar Renewable Energy Top Management has established a firm commitment to create a safe working environment for all working women, through the effective application of said Policy. To this end, the Internal Complaints Committee was created, which is made up of an external member, an expert in this field as well as internal Windar Renewable Energy employees.

Among the actions aimed at complying with its Policy, the Internal Complaints Committee, which held its annual meeting with the aim of analyzing and reviewing the security scenario for women in the workplace during the 2021 financial year, did not having registered no case of complaints of harassment through the company’s channels.
