Instalación 1ª jacket
  • This is the fourth order for jackets for the strategic alliance and the second time Ocean Winds has contracted the consortium for this type of foundation.
  • The construction of the jackets for the wind farm’s turbines has created more than 1,650 jobs between Asturias and Galicia.

It has a total capacity of 496 MW and has reached a new milestone with the installation of its first jacket foundation. This advance marks a decisive step for Ocean Winds, the project developer, and represents a success story for Windar Renovables, the manufacturer of the 62 jackets in partnership with Navantia.

Each of these jacket foundations measures approximately 63 metres high and 14 metres wide, with an estimated weight of 1,200 tonnes, and will supply renewable energy to 850,000 people, contributing significantly to the role of offshore wind energy in the energy transition and decarbonisation objectives of France and Europe.
