\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\nThe Navantia Fene shipyard is currently manufacturing 29 jackets – steel towers on which the wind turbines are supported at sea – and five superstructures for what will be the world’s first floating offshore wind farm. To analyse the sector’s growth prospects, the main international operators and organisations will meet in Ferrol on 12 and 13 May at a conference organised by the Galician Offshore Energy Group, Asime, Iberdrola, Navantia, Windar renovables and the Xunta de Galicia.
\n<\/p>\n\n
The first day of the conference will address offshore wind energy from the point of view of the operators, with the participation of Statoil, EDP Renovables and Iberdrola, moderated by Navantia. Engineering, technologists and auxiliary industries will be the focus of another of the thematic blocks, in which subcontractors from the region will also take part.
\n<\/p>\n\n
Offshore wind power in Europe, with the experiences developed to date and future developments, will be analysed in the first thematic block on the 13th. Leading international organisations from the sector, such as the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA), the Wind Energy Agency Bremerhaven (WAB), the Offshore Wind Investment Organisation, UK Trade & Investment, and the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure, will be taking part. In addition, the role that Galicia is playing in offshore wind will also be presented, as well as the cluster promoted by the Association of Metallurgical Industries of the community, Asime. Key players the round table that will bring the day to a close will include the participation of the presidents of Navantia, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Revuelta, and Windar renovables, Orlando Alonso, among others. The Regional Minister of Economy, Francisco Conde, will close the event. The conference includes guided tours of Navantia Fene.
